PT X, in meeting its employee needs, operates a food processing facility used to process raw materials into ready-to-eat food. One of the requirements for food hygiene and sanitation is that the food processing facility must be free from vectors and disease-carrying animals. The preliminary test resulted in 4 rats trapped with a success trap rate of 57.1% (<1%), which is categorized as high according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. This study aims to determine the effect of different baits (tempeh, roasted coconut, and salted fish) on the number of rats trapped using an Internet of Things (IOT) based Bucket Lid Mouse Trap with the assistance of a Telegram application. This research is experimental in nature, employing a post-test only control group design to assess the trap's efficacy with various baits. The sample consisted of 18 rats trapped. The results of this study showed that the number of rats trapped using tempeh bait was 1 rat (16.6%), roasted coconut trapped 3 rats (50%), and salted fish trapped 2 rats (33.3%). Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test with SPSS software, and the results indicated that there was no significant difference in the effect of tempeh, roasted coconut, and salted fish baits on the number of trapped rats, with a probability value of 0.492 (>0.05). Recommendations for further research include the need for further development of the Bucket Lid Mouse Trap by adding sensors that can be used to expand object monitoring within trap spaces.
