Abstract

Hospital X is a health service that produces dense medical waste with problems: not reducing medical waste, dirty TPS and fading TPS labels, transportation not through special routes, containers and transportation equipment are not disinfected. The purpose of the research is to determine the handling of solid medical waste at Hospital

X in 2025. The type of research is descriptive. The population is 15 rooms that produce solid medical waste. The sample was 15 rooms. The sampling technique is proportional random and total sampling cleaning officers. Data collection tools are scales, observation sheets, questionnaires, and cameras. Data analysis uses univariate. The results of the study were obtained from the generation of medical waste of 171.07 kg/8 days with an average of 21.38 kg/day and 1.4 kg/room/day. Solid medical waste handling 100% reduction stage is not eligible, sorting stage 100% qualifies, 100% containerization stage is not qualified, in-situ transportation stage 100% is not qualified, 100% temporary storage stage is not qualified, waste facilities are 100% sorting stage, waste facilities are 100% containerized level qualified, waste facilities are in-situ transportation stage100% unqualified, and 100% temporary storage unqualified, the knowledge of the janitor is categorized as 100% good and the health worker is categorized as 100% good. It is recommended to provide a special line for in-situ transportation, always close the door of the polling station, carry out waste reduction, disinfect waste containers after emptying.
