Abstract

Background: The prevalence of DM in the elderly continues to increase, including in the West Java region and the Sagalaherang Health Center. Controlling DM through proper diet education is very important, one of which is the 3J diet (amount, type, and schedule). The development of animated media based on the ADDIE model is needed to be able to increase cadres' knowledge about the 3J diet for the elderly with DM and facilitate the dissemination of information independently and attractively. Objective: Developing animated media about the 3J diet for the elderly with DM for cadres at the Sri Rahayu Posbindu, Sagalaherang Health Center Working Area with ADDIE model development research. Method: The type of research is R&D (Research and Develop) using the ADDIE approach. The population is 30 Sri Rahayu Posbindu cadres using the total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Shapiro Wilk and Wilcoxon test analysis. At the evaluation stage, a quantitative quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted. Results: Animated media about the 3J diet with mp4 format, 16:9 layout, 3.56 minutes duration. Obtained a score of 96.25 with a very good category from material experts, 85 with a very decent category from media experts and there was an increase in knowledge of 21.97%. Conclusion: Animated media about the 3J diet showed a difference in knowledge after being given animated media with a very suitable category for use by experts and uploaded to the Youtube social media page and received positive feedback.
