Abstract

Clean and Healthy Lifestyle Behavior (PHBS) is a vital pillar in improving public health, particularly among elementary school children. The aim of this activity was to enhance the understanding and application of PHBS through an educational and demonstrative program for students of MI Darul Ulum, Krajan Hamlet, Sukorambi. The “Gerakan Anak Hebat” (Great Kids Movement) program was carried out by professional nursing students from the University of Jember in three sessions, involving 35 students. The methods used included lectures and demonstrations: session 1 focused on the importance of breakfast and consuming healthy snacks; session 2 covered the six-step handwashing technique; and session 3 taught proper tooth brushing. Pretest and posttest results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge and behavior. After the intervention, the number of students who regularly ate breakfast increased significantly from 14 to 26, and those with proper handwashing knowledge rose from 16 to 30. Furthermore, there was an increase in knowledge about healthy snacks and tooth brushing. In conclusion, the educational approach combined with demonstration was highly effective in improving health awareness and healthy lifestyle behaviors among elementary school students.
