Children must be taught from an early age to have healthy teeth. One appropriate method for providing education to young children is by playing with stick boards and playmates. The aim of this research was to determine the difference in effectiveness between playing with stick boards and playmates in increasing knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance among Kindergarten Plus Tunas Bangsa students. This research method uses a quasi-experiment with a two group pretest posttest design. Sampling was carried out using a total sampling technique with the number of respondents in this study being 34 students. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon test to determine the effect of the two media on maintaining dental health and the Mann Whitney test to see the difference in effectiveness between the sticky board and playmate media on maintaining dental and oral health. The results of the research show that there is a difference in effectiveness between playing with stick boards and playmates in increasing knowledge of maintaining oral health with the results of the Mann Whitney test getting a value of p=0.000 (p<0,05). It can be concluded that sticky board media is more effective for kindergarten students to use than playmate media.
2025-03-14T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Klarisa Rahmawati, Sri Mulyanti, Nurul Fatikhah, Deru Marah Lauthttps://jurnal.polkesban.ac.id/index.php/tgm/article/view/2359PENGARUH PENYULUHAN DENGAN MEDIA ANIMASI TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN ORANG TUA TENTANG TOPIKAL APLIKASI FLUOR2025-03-14T10:09:34+08:00Delvi Julianadelvijuliana53@gmail.comYenni Hendriani Praptiwidelvijuliana53@gmail.comDenden Ridwan Chaerudindelvijuliana53@gmail.com
The prevalence of dental caries in Indonesia is estimated to be 80%. In children aged between six and 11 years, dental caries is a chronic condition that is prevalent and relatively high. Nevertheless, some measures can be taken, such as the application of topical fluoride. Nevertheless, a considerable number of parents remain unaware of the topical application of fluoride. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of an educational animation on parental knowledge about topical fluoride applications. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group, pretest-post-test design. The population of this study consisted of all parents (mothers and guardians) of students at DTA Al-Fath, totalling 18 individuals. The sampling method employed was total sampling. The data were analysed using the paired sample t-test. The results of the paired sample t-test indicate that the average level of parental knowledge regarding topical fluoride applications prior to the implementation of the educational intervention was 45.83. Following the provision of instruction via the medium of animation, the level of parental awareness regarding topical applications of fluoride increased, with an average score of 86.67. The findings of this study indicate a significant impact on the level of parental awareness regarding topical fluoride applications in DTA Al-Fath, both before and after the implementation of an educational intervention utilising animated media. The statistical significance of this impact is evidenced by a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05
2025-03-14T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Delvi Juliana, Yenni Hendriani Praptiwi, Denden Ridwan Chaerudinhttps://jurnal.polkesban.ac.id/index.php/tgm/article/view/2357EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DENTAL SPINNING WHEEL TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN PEMELIHARAAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR2025-05-24T10:28:11+08:00Aldi Hidayataldydayat45@gmail.comDenden Ridwan Chaerudindendenchaerudin@gmail.comNining Ningrumwidaningrumn@gmail.comSri Mulyantisrimulyanti@gmail.com
Dental and oral hygiene can be done with oral health maintenance efforts to improve the degree of oral health. This is due to a lack of knowledge of oral health maintenance. Efforts to overcome the problem of lack of knowledge about oral health are to implement promotive efforts to improve behavior, namely by educating children of primary school age, delivering good education, especially when conveying information to primary school children, is to use props or media. One of the uses of media used in conducting education is spinning wheels. Spinning wheel is a circular game with various pictures in it, which is rotated around its axis and stops at one of the pictures in the circle. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of dental spinning wheel on oral health maintenance knowledge in 3rd grade students of Uchuwwatul Islam Elementary School Sukajadi, Bandung City. This research type was pre-experiment research. The sample in this study were 3rd grade students selected using total sampling totaling 30 students. Data collection was obtained directly from respondents in the form of pre test-post test. The results showed that before counseling using dental spinning wheel 50% of students had poor knowledge, after counseling 90% had a good level of knowledge. Statistical test results using the Wilcoxon test showed that the p-value 0.000 (<0.05). The conclusion showed that the dental spinning wheel media is effectively used when counseling is given to increase the knowledge of oral health maintenance of 3rd grade students of SD Uchuwwatul Islam.
2025-05-24T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Aldi Hidayat, Denden Ridwan Chaerudin, Nining Ningrum, Sri Mulyanti
