https://jurnal.polkesban.ac.id/index.php/tgm/article/view/2317

Rampant caries is a condition in which disease in the hard tissues of the teeth spreads rapidly and affects several teeth at once. This condition is characterized by most or all of the baby teeth being black. The preschool period is considered crucial, because at the age of 2-2.5 years all baby teeth have grown and at the age of 6 years have begun to erupt. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of parents of PAUD Al-Azhar students about caries rampant at the age of preschool children and to determine the number of students who experience caries rampant based on patterns. This research method is a descriptive survey that is useful for describing the results of research. The sampling technique used total sampling. Respondents were 21 parents of students and students of PAUD AlAzhar, whose knowledge level was measured and caries rampant was seen. Data analysis was processed statistically and represented in a frequency distribution table using the SPSS application. The results showed that the knowledge of parents of PAUD Al-Azhar students about caries rampant with moderate criteria as much as (57.1%) and 11 students of PAUD Al-Azhar experienced caries rampant (52.4%). The level of knowledge of parents of students with moderate criteria illustrates the cause of the high incidence of caries rampant in children of PAUD Al-Azhar Cipacing Village.
Citra Melati PutriYonan HeriyantoDevy OctavianaMegananda Hiranya Putri

With increasing age, the function of the body's organs will decrease both due to natural factors and due to disease. One of the things related to the deterioration of the oral cavity is the production of salivary glands. Tomato fruit (Solanum Lycopersicum L.) contains vitamins and compounds that are good for health, especially Lycopene. The purpose of this study was to determine the volume of saliva before and after consuming cherry tomatoes, and to determine the saliva flow rate before and after consuming cherry tomatoes in the elderly at the Karitas Cibeber Nursing Home. Pre-experiment research type with One Group Pretest Posttest design, population of 26 respondents and purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted in February 2024. Analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the average salivary volume before consumption of cherry tomatoes was 0.565 cc and after consumption of cherry tomatoes was 0.915cc. Salivary flow rate before consumption of cherry tomatoes 1.24 minutes and after consumption of cherry tomatoes 0.79 seconds. There is a significant effect between the consumption of cherry tomatoes on the volume and flow rate of saliva (p <0.05).
Siti ThoharohDewi Sodja LaelaNeneng NurjanahDevy Octaviana

Anxiety management is done by pharmacological and non-pharmacological means. Music is one of the non-pharmacological methods to trigger safe, cheap, and effective relaxation. Thus, a study was conducted on the difference between classical music therapy and meditation music on anxiety levels in odontectomy patients. The research method used was quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest two group design. Subjects were 38 and divided into 2 groups, namely the treatment and control groups. Subjects were given informed consent, filled in subject identity data, in the treatment group filled out the MDAS (modifed dental anxiety scale) questionnaire before listening to classical music and meditation music and the control group was given a posttest after odontectomy with the same questionnaire. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between classical music therapy and meditation music on anxiety levels in odontectomy patients. Statistical analysis using the Saphiro Wilk test. The results of this study are pretest / posttest classical music obtained a value of 14.21 / 6.63. The conclusion is that there is a difference in the provision of classical music therapy and meditation music on the anxiety level of odontectomy patients with a significant p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that classical music is more effective than meditation music in reducing anxiety levels in odontectomy patients.
Silmi Agnia Ramadhanisri mulyantisekar restuningdevy octaviana

https://jurnal.polkesban.ac.id/index.php/tgm/article/view/2119

Background: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (SAR) is an inflammatory condition that occurs in the oral mucosa, in the form of yellow-white ulcers, one of the causes of which is stress. Stress is a state of mental and emotional disturbance or chaos that is usually often experienced by student activists due to pressure in both the academic and non-academic fields. Methods: The type of research used is observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Bandung with a sample of 94 student activists who were taken using purposive sampling with simple random sampling technique. This study aims to determine the relationship between stress and the incidence of recurrent aphthous stomatitis in student activists. Results: Univariate data analysis is presented in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square. The level of stress in the moderate category was experienced by 59 people (62%) who were dominated by women (50%). Respondents who did not experience SAR were 50 people (53.6%). The results of the chi-square test analysis showed a p-value = 0.000 Conclusion: There is a relationship between stress and the incidence of recurrent aphthous stomatitis in activist students of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Bandung. This can occur because stress can affect the immune system and increase the risk of inflammation in the mouth to trigger the appearance of stomatitis in individuals.
Rainanda Nabilatu Sya'diyahTri WidyastutiSekar Restuning

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) transmission can occur indoors via airborne droplets containing TB bacteria. Household contacts are at increased risk of infection. Sharing toothbrushes or storing them in close proximity can lead to cross-infection. This study aimed to identify risk factors for TB transmission among close household contacts through dental hygiene practices. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing in-depth face-to-face interviews and observations. Three BTA- positive patients were recruited as subjects. The study variable was risk factors for TB transmission to close household contacts through dental hygiene practices. Findings revealed that BTA-positive patients had a habit of storing toothbrushes together with family members and had close contact with positive household members. Storing toothbrushes together with bristles touching can facilitate cross- infection. Sharing and storing toothbrushes in close proximity increases the risk of TB cross-infection. Proper toothbrush storage and usage, particularly among TB patients, are crucial to prevent cross-infection via contaminated bristles.
Annisa Fuzzi FitriyaniDewi Sodja LaelaUlfah Utami
